We have a charity project for daily “Free surgeries of Cleft Lip & Cleft Palate children” at Bembde Hospital as a humanitarian mission under SmileTrain since 5th December 2007. We are restoring lives of cleft patients & hence bringing joys & creating beautiful smiles on the faces of not only patients but also relatives & hospital staff through this comprehensive cleft care project.

Dr.Ramakant Bembde has done more than 900 free plastic surgeries for cleft children. A cleft, is a serious health condition with potentially life-threatening complications such as difficulty eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking. Also we have to effectively treat malnutrition amongst children born with clefts.

Please remember that cleft lip can be repaired at 4 to 6 months age & cleft palate should be operated before 18 months of age for good speech results.
